Wool Crossing Cedille

Cédille is the first yarn under the Wool Crossing brand born from the union of two cultures, the French and the Portuguese, through the fibres of two breeds of merino sheep from Arles and Alentejo.

Hence the name Cèdille, the name of the graphic symbol of the French and Portuguese languages ​​which, placed under the letter c (ç) before the vowels a, o, u gives it the sound of a voiceless s. The idea was born from the reflection that, Like languages, the typical fibres of the various areas of the world speak of the culture of the people to which they belong.

Cèdille is a 3-ply carded yarn, very elastic, soft and particularly suitable for structured garments that require lightness given by the ability to take volume without weighing down the workmanship. It has excellent stitch definition and for this reason it is very suitable for work with raised stitches and cables.

Arles wool has a characteristic pure white color while Alentejo wool is typically deep and dark brown. Wool Crossing Cèdille will be offered in two shades: full color obtained by dyeing on a white base and the melange color obtained by dyeing on a mixed base of white and black wool.
