You never know what the day will bring with spring, so it’s the perfect season to layer!
All the pieces in this issue play with opacity, texture and color, layering techniques, tones and transparency, sometimes all together!
The initial inspiration for this issue came from layering images like risographs, shadows and overlapping photos, which make you think about print and how it works. As a print publication, transferring the words and images we so carefully create onto paper is part of what we do.
We also invited two people with strong personalities to model the shirts in this volume. Angel Joy Flores and Alicia Roth Weigel are both activists working for a more equal world for the LGBTQIA+ community in Texas and much more.

Issue 44 also includes a celebration of the art of screenprinting by Mei Stephens, reflecting on the parallels between printing and knitting, and Hannah McGregor’s second contribution to Pom Pom, this time taking on the colour yellow and its cultural history.
