ISSUE 39

The knitting and crochet patterns in Issue 39 are inspired by rhythm! This issue of Pom Pom Magazine’s collection is filled with patterns that honor echoes, explore semi-tone color changes, and include repeating motifs that allow you to get into the rhythm of stitching and knitting. The designers have taken our auditory theme and created patterns that highlight the aspects of rhythm that we see, like written musical scores and the visual representation of sound waves. Whatever rhythm you knit to, there’s a winter project for you in this issue!

Featuring designs by: JUDITH BRAND, ASTRID COLDING SIVERTSEN, ADELLA DUTRA, ANA D, TETYANA VYAZOVSKA, JOHANNA KUNIN, NIDHI KANSAL, KEIKO KIKUNO, CLEO MALONE, VALERIE NG

On Ravelry you can see all the patterns contained in the magazine.

Artist, maker, and stylist Lydia Morrow served as the creative director for this issue's photoshoot! Her jazzy style is so pleasing. Once you've found your stride, your knitting groove, you'll enjoy the two articles in issue #39. In "Rhythms of Handiwork," Felicity (Felix) Ford explores the historical and communal relationship between craft and rhythm, while Claudia Khan writes poignantly about the delicate melody of parenting, collaboration, and time in her article, "A Family Song." Kiyomi and Sachiko Burgin are the creators of this issue's handmade lip balm tutorial, so you can combat chapped lips caused by the cold and even have some handmade, non-knit gifts ready for the holiday season.
