Spring arrives, the snows melt, the streams swell filling the valleys with their roar, the grass turns green and the first flowers bloom on the plateau.

The animals finally have fresh food, milk production increases and the best yogurt with a delicious floral scent is produced.

The lambing season has begun for sheep, yaks and goats and everywhere there is a rush of lambs and kids chasing each other on the slopes between feedings under the watchful eye of their mothers.

Social life also resumes, families meet up sipping butter tea between one chat and another.

With spring, even the communication routes that had been buried under metres of snow reopen and one fine day, to further brighten up the village's days, merchants arrive with their coloured fabrics which, depending on the area, can come from India, Nepal, Bhutan or China.

Tibetans have the most precious natural fibers in the world but cotton has a touch of exotic, it comes from far away warm countries, then those fabrics with floral patterns, Tibetan women love them!

Tibetans love picnics, they have a real cult of picnics, whether they are nomads or farmers, students, monks, nuns or important Lamas, they spread out their large floral cotton tablecloths on the grass, fill them with all sorts of goodies and spend carefree days between a game of football and a nap among the flowers.

Our Kupa, as Tibetans call the cotton thread, wants to recall these festive atmospheres.

It is a fine Middle Eastern organic cotton skilfully blended by Biella artisans with our baby yak.

The result is a fresh and summery yarn, with an exceptional “hand” that is the synthesis of 2 different softnesses that give a unique touch to this yarn.
