mYak camel fiber comes from northeastern Tibet, in an arid part of the plateau near the Gobi Desert.
The camels are looked after by Tibetan communities who represent a very interesting mix of Tibetan and Mongolian cultures: they speak Amdo, one of the three main Tibetan dialects, and live in yurts, the typical Mongolian tent.
Bactrian Camel is a wonderful animal that can thrive in extreme climates. It is used to transport family goods during transhumance and produces a very rich milk and a valuable fiber.
Camel fiber is warm and very soft, known for centuries as one of the noblest fibers in the world.
Our Camel yarn, from the Tibetan plateau and spun in Italy, enhances the characteristics of this precious material. It has a very luxurious touch, a unique mix of strength and softness.
