In ITO Washi the peculiarity is undoubtedly the presence of paper, a very important element in Japanese tradition (just think of origami and the whole world of writing and the art of calligraphy practiced on paper).

In Washi, the paper gives a velvety effect and an excellent definition of the stitch making it very suitable for openwork (lace) work. The paper is twisted together with the viscose to give more stability to the garment that you will make with this yarn.

Hand washing is recommended.

In Japanese traction, paper yarns are compared to silk for the nobility of the material and for its properties: fresh in summer and warm in winter. Washi can be worked single for very light summer accessories and double or in combination with Asa or Niji for more sustained knits.
