Coconites Four Corner Bag

In her many years of teaching knitting, Julie Weisenberg says she has used and seen hundreds of project bags, usually the drawstring variety. She was frustrated with the design of this classic bag because it was too one-dimensional. She wanted something she could open and reach the bottom, something she could hang on the arm of a chair and knit, as well as something she could use for other purposes, like carrying a box of pastries or lunch! She started folding paper, origami-style, until she found a simple square-bottom structure. Using this design, she constructed the bag with sturdy, rustic handles made of linen and natural, vegetable-tanned leather that are removable so the bag can be washed. The pattern for the bag comes with the handles so you can sew your own or buy a pre-made one from Cocoknits.

Anyway, instructions are included to tie the leather handles, so when you spill wine, coffee or whatever on your bag, no problem! Just remove the handles, wash the bag and reattach!
